     The market is definitely picking up. I’ve had many prospective buyers through my recent open houses. These prospective buyers will become the new owners of homes on the Main Line this spring. I say this in a tongue in cheek, reminiscing way. Charlie Roach always said, “Your lookers in January and February are the new owners of home in May and June.” I definitely see an upswing in the real estate market.
I also recently attended the “Breakfast of Champions,” a special breakfast for the top producers at Prudential Fox and Roach. We had a discussion about how we, as agents, are utilizing so many different forms of technology and Prudential’s fabulous resources. Whether its Apple or Windows, whether a Smartphone or computer, there is so much information and so many apps, I now have even more inspiring ideas for my buyers, sellers, customers and clients!
     The snow this past weekend created a real craving for some classic cold weather comfort food. My Pot Roast with tons of carrots, onions, mushrooms and red wine was heartwarming and soul satisfying!
     I’m getting ready to pack for Puerto Vallarta! I am really looking forward it!

From the Main Line to Puerto Vallarta…

     We know the Main Line is an entity unto itself and the weather has proven it so far. We’ve had open houses every week with lots of potential buyers for Main Line homes. But with the cold this week and the potential of snow, Puerto Vallarta is starting to look good! From Rome to the Main Line…

Last week I played and traveled from Rome to Athens via Sorrento, Positano, Sicily and Malta. It was a spectacular trip. Each place I visited I stopped into a Real Estate Office to see how their market was doing. I found their high priced market was a “happy market” for the agents!

I also found that if you want to buy things and think you can get a better deal at the duty free shops – think again! These days you can get a better deal at home and it feels like wholesale.

Upon my return I found a great new fruit and vegetable market right here! Freshly picked corn, tomatoes and other local produce at the

Hi I’m Selma Glanzberg,

After 35 years of selling real estate on the Main Line and center city Philadelphia, I am proud to announce my new blog. The real estate profession has certainly changed and I am making sure I am providing my clients with the latest and most up-to-date real estate information out there.

It seems I am never without my I-phone, I-pad or laptop computer these days and am available on a 24/7 basis. I am also fortunate to have my assistant Andi Hennesey, who is my right (and left) hands! So, if my line happens to be busy, feel free to call Andi. She is also available 24/7 – except she likes to sleep late!

The purpose of this blog is to keep you informed about Philadelphia and Main Line homes and have fun because real estate to me is finding the ‘near perfect’ home for you. Finding your match while making home buying a fun, pleasant and professional experience is my goal. My clients always know they are special to me, no matter where or what time, I am always available. I will not only keep you informed in real estate, the housing market, mortgage information, but also I will share my experiences, likes and dislikes, new things I learn about that I feel will be worthwhile sharing with you.

Just so you know a little more about me, I live in center city in the Symphony House and make a reverse commute to my office in Gladwyne. I am an early riser! My husband, Gonnie and my son David and I are all ‘foodies’ and I love cook and travel, too (I work hard and play hard)!

I also believe it is essential to give back to your community. My favorite charity is Friends of Jerry Segal to benefit Magee Rehabilitation in Philadelphia, who for over 20 years has been dedicated to raising money to help its patients in Philadelphia and the surrounding communities.

I would love your feedback on anything you would like to discuss – real estate on the main line, real estate in center city, real estate in general, travel, food, community events and exciting happenings in Philadelphia and along the main line in the Symphony House on the Avenue of the Arts.
